Droner angrep kjemikalieanlegget Azot i Novomoskovsk

Ukrainian media and OSINT analysis identified Azot as the target, while satellite imagery, photos and videos suggest that the AM-70 ammonia-production unit was the probable point of impact.
Slik beskriver ukrainske kilder det
Ukrainian media focused on the strike against Azot, the subsequent fire and the likely damage to the AM-70 ammonia-production unit. They also emphasized the plant’s scale and its reported supply links to explosives and artillery-ammunition production. The absence of confirmation from Ukrainian military authorities was noted.
Der framstillingene spriker
Russian officials confirmed drone attacks and damage in Novomoskovsk but did not identify which industrial facility was hit. Ukrainian media and OSINT analysis identified Azot as the target and AM-70 as the likely point of impact. Ukrainian military authorities had not confirmed the attack on Azot by the time of publication.
Bakgrunn
Azot has been part of the EuroChem holding since 2002 and produces ammonia, ammonium nitrate, urea, methanol, nitric acid and other chemical products. According to cited intelligence information, the plant supplied nitric acid to the Sverdlov plant in Dzerzhinsk, where explosives are produced. Reported deliveries in 2022–2024 included almost 5,000 tonnes of nitric acid from Novomoskovsk Azot and at least 38,000 tonnes of acetic acid from Novomoskovsk Azot together with the Nevinnomyssky nitrogen plant. A separate fire occurred near the Novolipetsk Metallurgical Combine in Lipetsk on the evening of 27 October after an attack involving reactive weapons.
